Shipping the Sorento to NZ

We have decide to live permanently in NZ, so the Sorento has been sitting in Kuala Lumpur doing nothing. The mileage is about 40k. We have checked with NZ Customs and they said it is not a problem if we have owned the car for more than a year overseas and now coming back to live in NZ. They need the purchase price of the car, ownership papers, BL, declaration that we will not sell the car for 2 years in NZ. Apparently no import duty and GST(?). Need to talk to Quarantine about the car. So, it is all go! Waiting for another quotation from KL for the shipping cost. Lindsey's friend in NZ quoted US$2,500 FCL and Simon Lim from Port Kelang quoted US$2,000. Will probably need us to be there in KL to de-register the car,  sort out ownership claim by MBB when the loan is fully paid by January 2011, etc. Will probably put some other personal effects in the container since there will be space. Need also to ensure the car is properly strapped to avoid it moving while handling. Will be there end March 2011.

Thinking of buying a kia sorento to replace my perdana which is now 7 years old and time to change. Have looked at the various options Harrier, Fortuner, Ford Escape, X-trail, Rexton etc. Sorento appears to be a good buy, diesel 2.5lit, spacious interior, common rail technology, auto cruise, power windows, CD changer, air-con, leather seats, good price etc.
The salesman said the stock now are CBU imported models and later Naza will be assembling them locally, so spare parts and service will be readily available.
The trade in price for the Perdana was not good. They offered 32k for it and I got to pay 138k for the sorento. Thinking of borrowing 60k from the bank.
I think the black will look good and will add on the bmw look alike sarong and the side steps.
